About us

A crew of builders, not a call centre.

Ronin Inc. started in 2009 with one truck, two carpenters and a rule we still keep: the person who quotes your job is on site while it's built.

The founder

Mostafa Al-Rashid

Founder & Principal Builder · Cairo → London, Ontario

Mostafa came to London, Ontario in 2004 with a civil engineering diploma, three hundred dollars and no contacts. He framed houses in Byron through a winter that convinced him he'd made a mistake, then spent five years learning every trade on site — carpentry, tile, plumbing rough-in, cabinetry — because nobody would hand him a management job.

He started Ronin in 2009 out of a rusted Sierra with a single rule that still runs the company: the person who quotes your job is on your site while it's built. That rule is the reason he turns work down when the calendar is full, and the reason 94% of Ronin's work comes from repeat clients and their neighbours.

He's bald, he's loud on demo day, he answers his own phone at 6:40am, and he will absolutely tell you when the thing you saw on Instagram is a bad idea for your house.

"I've had my own kitchen torn apart for eleven weeks. I know exactly what we're asking of your family. That's why we finish."
— Mostafa, on why he still answers the phone himself

Ronin project lead reviewing renovation blueprints on site

Seventeen years of other people's homes.

We've rebuilt century semis in Wortley Village, gutted 1970s bungalows in Oakridge and added second storeys in Byron. That range matters: when we open a wall and find knob-and-tube, undersized joists or forty years of quiet water damage, it isn't a crisis — it's Tuesday.

Today we run six field crews plus in-house carpentry, tile and finishing, backed by licensed electrical, plumbing and HVAC partners we've worked with for over a decade — across London, Kitchener–Waterloo and the towns in between. Every project gets one lead who owns it from the first walkthrough to the last touch-up.

Our standards

Four rules nobody on our crew breaks.

Show up when we say

A schedule is a promise. If something slips, you hear it from us first — not from an empty driveway.

Price it honestly

We'd rather lose a bid than win it with a number we know will grow by 40% mid-project.

Build it twice as strong

Blocking behind every fixture, waterproofing beyond code, and framing you'll never have to think about again.

Leave it clean

Floor protection, dust walls and a broom-clean site every single evening.

Free, no-pressure estimate

Tell us what's broken, dated or too small.

We'll walk the space, price it honestly and give you a schedule you can plan around.
